The 5th Wave Signing!

So today myself, Tia and Yvonne travelled up to Dublin to meet the wonderful Rick Yancey! The Author of the new YA book The 5th Wave!

He was lovely! He took the time to answer questions, tell us about the process of writing the books and even shared some stories of rejection he faced as an up and coming author! After a Q&A session he gladly signed books, had photos taken and chatted away with each and every one of us!

(even threatening to find our blog and watch our review of the book! No pressure right?!)

I'm so happy I had the opportunity to meet Rick, and get my book signed!

P.S. the pictures a bit blurry but sure it's still a great reminder of the day!

True

True - Erin McCarthy Ok WOW! I seriously didn't like NA books before True but now thats gone out the window!! This book was amazing! It was so refreshing to have a main character that was in control of her life and knew what she wanted!! She made no idiotic decisions, no stupid mistakes and she was so believable as a character. I couldn't get enough of the relationship between Erin and Tyler! It was perfectly written and I just craved more once the story was done!!In all honestly theres nothing more I can say about the book then what the girls already said and I'd just be repeating myself but SERIOUSLY people.. ye NEED to read this book!!

The Summer I Became a Nerd

The Summer I Became a Nerd - Leah Rae Miller Straight off the bat I knew I would love this concept behind this book! Because who among us hasn't tried to hide our inner nerd at some point?!Maddie is your typical high-school cheerleader with one secret.. She is a massive nerd! She geeks out to comics in the privacy of her bedroom and hides the evidence from her family and friends. This is of course until the summer before her senior year when she is forced to disguise herself and enter into The Phoenix, the local comic book store run where she meets Logan, a guy from her class who recognises her instantly! She is whisked into his world of comics, live-action role playing, video games and nerd conventions and she loves every minute of it!In doing this and spending time with Logan she starts to neglect her best friend Terra and all her best friend duties, she breaks rules and gets in trouble with her parents and she begins to get caught up in the lies she has told! The more lies she tells the more she is at risk of loosing Logan and more importantly loosing who she really is.The relationship between Maddie and Logan is possibly one of the cutest ones I have read is a LONG time! It didn't get boring or repetitive or make me want to gag at cheesy one liners it was just perfect nerd love! I found myself so invested in every direction the relationship took that I couldn't put this book down! Logan was the perfect nerdy guy that every girl wants to run into! The only complaint I have about this book is that it was WAY to short! I could have read twice this amount and still craved more! I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars instead of 5 simply for this fact that I wanted more! It's a book that makes you fall helplessly in love with the characters and will bring out your inner nerd!

Dragonfly (Dragonfly, #1)

Dragonfly (Dragonfly, #1) - Leigh Talbert Moore When I got the chance to review this book I immediately jumped at the chance! But in my haste I forgot myself and the fact that I don't particularly enjoy contemporary romance as much as I used to! The book had a great concept and the story incising. Although if I'm honest the love triangle just wasn't juicy enough! On one had we have Jack who seems like the perfect guy except he has this 'huge' secret and on the other we have Julian the sweet, romantic artist! The whole way I was rooting for Julian because he just seemed like a more likeable character and Jack just didn't come across as my kinda guy!Over all I thought the book could be a perfect summer read for someone who REALLY enjoys contemporary romance but for me I'm afraid it just wasn't my cup of tea!
